GFonts was founded 1998 by Lorenz Goldnagl as one of the first "private" fontfactories in Austria. After some awards Gfonts received from fontsites all over the world the Gfonts site became more popular and the "GF Ordner" font has been voted as "Freefont of the month" a lot of times.

Until now, about 100 websites all over the web are linking to gfonts.com, about 75.000 Users have visited the website and thousands of users downloaded one or more fonts.
